Waggish Writer Week 33: Updates and Reflections

Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit Waggish Writer.

This is the first post of 2021 with 2020 left in the dust. I took the past two weeks off to enjoy the holidays. Waggish Writer is back with the following updates and reflections close on its heels.

UPDATES

  • Waggish Writer has scaled back to at least one post a week with a potential throwback post on Thursdays when I revisit older content.

  • Some minor edits to the website pages has been done. Some of this content includes revisions of Misventures, one of my Story Scribbles.

  • Exciting news, I taken a lot of time of thinking about why I've stalled on my project of Divine Devices. The reason? I only have a visual of the lands of the world but no name for its world. In a creative spurt, I have given the universes of Divine Devices and Misventures names. Rokos is Divine Devices's world. Trizend is the name for Misventures' universe. What's even more exciting that I have more than one set of adventurers in the works for Trizend with potential of clashes between adventurers. Stay tune for more teases of my creative creations!

REFLECTIONS

2020 has been a year of mixed blessings. Some good. Some a pain. Some I consider a miracle.

One of the things I decided that I wanted to get back to is the craft. With so many life changes, my craft has been sitting to the side. I have not beaten myself about it. I simply chose to embrace that I have a lot of things going on. I need to do what I needed to do to make the changes. Once I've created a new normal, I'll be able to get back to work and return to what brings me the most joy.

In the back of my mind, I know that I have to mature into the adult that I sometimes don't feel that I can be. However, when I think of what makes me most passionate, it becomes less terrifying and becomes more thrilling. There is so much I can do in the world. What I have to do is take a leap of faith that by putting it all out there, I will be able to receive back from the universe either equally or ten times the amount that I put out.

My wish for myself is to get back to my craft that brings me the most joy. The follow up wish is that I am able to support myself on what I love to do. I know I may have to take other types of work to live with daily expenses and unexpected expenses, but the craft of words calls to me. I simply need to answer the call, glue my butt to my chair, and make magic.
