Let's Roll Out a Logo

Updated: Apr 22, 2021

Hello and welcome to Waggish Writer.

As you may have seen on my Welcome and About Me page, I've rolled out a logo. It is my first attempt to try and capture what Waggish Writer is about.

As I've described myself, I am someone whose mischievous and playful, a pixie who flutters from idea to idea in my writing.

What really got me inspired about my logo is a local piece of art in the Ann Arbor Community.

This is a mural titled "What Lifts You Up" by Kelsey Montague Art in Ann Arbor. Not only does the mural use the Maize and Blue, but the intricate detail of the wings include legendary icons around Ann Arbor such as the Clock Tower where it rings out unique tunes or Christmas Carols when its around the holidays. Of course, the M and the Michigan Union is part of the right wing (your right as you look down at your phone or computer screen).

Being a creator by nature and choice, I thought I would try to give a hand at logo making with the basics of PowerPoint.

Well, you can see how it turned out.

Still, I am able to capture the layers I wish Waggish Writer to catch. Each layer of the ring represents my writing personas: author, poet, screenwriter, journalist, and FanFiction Writer.

In the future, I'll either turn to a professional, use Adobe Illustrator, or spend careful time in creating my logo.

If you like what you've read, comment on icons or art you see in your town. What inspires you about it?

Thank you for taking the time to visit Waggish Writer. If you wish to show your appreciation, you're welcome to...

This is Waggish Writer signing off of this post.
